Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). What have you felt over the past five months as you turned on your televisions or logged in to your social media accounts? Does it feel as if hope has no place in our society? Has your trust and faith taken a back seat to what your eyes continue see? This COVID-19 Pandemic alongside Racial injustice amongst black communities have taken its toll on us mentally, spiritually and physically. It’s very easy to believe that there’s no light ahead in this dark tunnel. I want to share and hopefully encourage you with these series of poems as I walk through the tunnel with you. There is light ahead and I write with you in mind. We are truly surrounded by things that can go unnoticed and often unappreciated. From the simplest of times with friends to the long lasting battles with things that we can’t control. The real battle is to not allow ourselves to be blinded by negativity but influenced by the deepest parts of our hearts.
